ABOUT CHRIS RAUFEISEN
Chris Raufeisen is a Thai American Stand Up Comedian, known for his dark humor, clever crowd work, and natural stage presence. He is also known as a founder of Raw Comedy Asia, Bangkok Comedy, and his business manager role at Comedy Joint, Thailand's first fulltime professional comedy club. He has garnered millions of views from his comedy content and continues writing, producing and editing content to this day.
Chris was born in Bangkok Thailand to an American father and Thai mother and lived in Thailand until he moved to Chicago Illinois at 5 years old where he was raised by his grandparents. At 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served as a mortarman while attending Northern Illinois University, graduating with a degree in Anthropology. After his honorable discharge from the Marines at 24, he went backpacking around Asia and eventually moved to Bangkok Thailand where he played lacrosse on the Thai National Lacrosse Team for one season and enrolled in a graduate program for Archaeology at Silpakorn University in Bangkok. Somewhere between grad school and working odd jobs he discovered the stage and has never looked back. During his comedy career he lived on Khaosan road for 2 years, making a living by playing shows for international crowds daily, and has collected numerous tales and misadventures. Among his favorite comedy experiences were opening for Doug Stanhope in Bangkok, playing the first comedy festival in Nepal, and touring in Vietnam performing at a string of wild and unhinged hostel shows. He has also performed numerous times in the United States and Canada as support for his more famous friends.
Chris has a deep and vast knowledge of Thai history and on his off time is working on a comprehensive history of the Ancient Kings of Thailand for Youtube.
